Prince Moon and Tuxedo Rose.

This specific piece I did for a contest. 4ever-magical-girls.deviantart...
There was a conversation that went a little like this.

Phantom Saint Kurai : “ Hey Pike, you know that magical girl club I'm part of?”

Pike Inverse : “Yeah.”

Kurai : “They're doing another contest. This time it’s gender reverse.”

Pike : “Cool.”

Kurai : “Your experiment with Sailor Moon and tuxedo mask would be perfect.”

Pike : “Yeah.”

Kurai : “Great I’ll go send a message to the person running the contest and see if it's okay for someone who's not part of the group to enter.”
[Kurai walks off]

Pike: “… what …”

But I've been bouncing around with this idea for a little bit now.
The idea is… gender reverse everybody and have the plot follows the Esper Tuxedo Rose as she hears something calling from deep in her soul to protect the Moon Prince, which of course can't be that clumsy goofball Prince Moon.

Sorry about the strange composition. Kurai wanted me to do it based off of a picture from the manga, [that's the one in the middle.] but if I had done that then you would have only been able to see their formal attire. So I added two other poses each based off of some box art.


I have not a clue what everyone's normal name should be, but a lot of their personality stays intact.
Mamoru or Darien is a modern romantic, hence taking the images of a tuxedoed mask Crusader.


For the gender reverse I wanted to keep a lot of Tuxedo Mask/Tuxedo Kamen image instead of just putting a dark haired blue-eyed girl in another sailor skirt.

Don't get me wrong I like the Sailor Scouts outfits, but I wanted to try something new and in order to do that I had to break away from that image.

The color palette is the same from tuxedo mask to tuxedo Rose.
Unfortunately in this picture it’s really hard to see but she has Rose earrings like Makoto / Lita.
For her formal wear I wanted to keep it very clean and look modern, I also wanted to reference Princess Serenity without it looking too close.


Usagi or Serena is much more interested in fairy tales so I made him a Prince.
For Sailor Moon’s gender reverse I wanted to do it in a way that you could still see her in there.
Originally I was going to do a hairstyle being very intricate but long like the elves from Lord of the rings, but it's just not Sailor Moon them without those Odango /meatballs.

And I wanted to keep the color palette the same.
For his formal costume I wanted to reference Princess Serenity’s dress a lot.
For his crown there are 4 gems on it representing the other inner Scouts.

Just to give you a basic idea of the other sailors scouts.
Professor Mercury, Onmyoji Mars, Bancho Jupiter, Celebrity Venus.

Lots of their attacks remain the same.
Tuxedo Rose still has the roses to throw at enemies and this is how it works.
Since tuxedo Rose is an Esper she's able to send her “Chi” into the Rose making its sharp and powerful.
She still has the cane she can spin to deflect enemy attacks or simply to Fence with,
And the top hat that I believe tuxedo mask throws at the enemy in season3 early on.
Just like Sailor Moon anytime tuxedo Rose needs any of these items there conveniently there.
She also can have visions in her dreams, see ghosts, sense danger along with negative energy, pick up on other people's feelings especially planet Earth and heal or sustain another person.


Since Prince Moon will remain clumsy and flaky sometimes he may look like Gourry from Slayers, but I'm okay with that.
Prince Moon also keeps all of Sailor Moon’s ability.
Because Prince Moon's crown is attached directly to the Odango shields and wraps around the back of his head, he is incapable of removing it so he can’t throw it like a discus.
Instead Prince moon can summon a shield to either use it as its intended purpose or toss like a discus.
